"Past Pleasures..." is an excellent documentary in its own right, but it is especially important when seen with "Plagues and Pleasures...". The footage of how the Salton Sea was envisioned and how places like the North Shore Yacht Club and the Salton Bay Yacht Club looked inside and out back in the day remind us that this place that has become such a laughing stock was once quite wonderful. The editing and sound quality are excellent even on the vintage films. As a Salton Sea fan, I loved it. I am in the process of writing fictional stories that are set at the Salton Sea from 1943 until the present and these two DVDs have given me excellent resources to study

I would love to see a book of the ephemera. At any rate I highly recommend "Past Pleasures at the Salton Sea"!
